Mrs. Jess Foster Services Saturday
Mrs. Jess Foster passed away unexpectedly at her home in Enterprise Tuesday morning, March 23, 1954, although she had been in ill health for the past six months. She and her husband had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last December.
Dora Edith Warnock, daughter of D. W. and Nancy Warnock, was born on Crow Creek February 14, 1887, and had lived almost all of her life in Wallowa county. On December 16, 1903 she was married to Jess H. Foster at her parents home on Crow creek. For the past few years she and her husband had lived in Enterprise, but for many years, they farmed and raised livestock. She was a member of Emerald Rebekah Lodge No. 119 of Enterprise.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Community Church under the direction of Booth-Bollman Funeral home. Rev. John Munsey will officiate, and Mrs. R.D. Kay and Mrs. Garnet Best, accompanied by Mrs. John Munsey, will sing “Beyond The Sunset” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.” Pallbearers will be Lawrence Rowe, Wm. W. Zurcher, Jay Templeton, Ed Forsstrom, J. J. Tippett, and Art Haggerty. Burial will be in the Enterprise cemetery with the Rebekah lodge in charge of the committal service.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband, Jess; one son, K.E. (Bud) of Enterprise; one daughter, Mrs. Dave (Gylene) Hearing, of Pendleton. She also leaves five sisters: Mrs. Charles Crader, Mrs. Harry Mays and
