Fleetwood Family Cemetery, Baker County, Oregon

Last Updated on October 29, 2012 by

There is a small cemetery about two miles west of Hereford on State Highway No. 7 where only Fleetwoods and their relatives are buried. It is about seven miles southeast of the Big Flat Cemetery and is easily found as it is right on the highway. It is located on the homestead of Asa Fleetwood who donated the land for Cemetery purposes at the time of a scarlet fever epidemic in the 1890’s.

This is a closed cemetery. It is cared for by descendents of the Fleetwood family and is in good condition. Buried here are:

Fleetwood, Asa b. 1838; d. 1903; grandfather of Orville of Baker, Ore.

Fleetwood, Elizabeth b. 1840; d. 1899; wife of Asa.

Fleetwood, Robert b. 1890; d. 1893; son of Asa & Elizabeth.

Koontz, Frank b. 1878; d. 1891; grandson of Asa.

Koontz, Mary b. 1881; d. 1903; granddaughter of Asa.

Our thanks to the Baker Family History Center for allowing us to use their copies of these cemetery records.
