Mrs. Dahl Was Native Of Valley
Funeral services was held for Nina May Dahl 77, 1825 4th St. , 77 years life time resident of Baker and Baker county, were conducted at West and Co. Memorial Chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday Sept. 27, 1967.
The Rev. James Bronson of the First Lutheran Church officiated. Interment will follow at the Haines Cemetery in Haines, Oregon.
Mrs. Dahl was a native of this valley and the daughter of pioneers. She was born February 18, 1890 at Haines, Oregon the daughter of George W. and Ida Bell Long Jackson. She was the eldest granddaughter of the Baker County Pioneer family of Alonzo and Julia Ann Long. She had her early schooling at the Muddy Creek School and was married to her husband Henry Dahl, in Baker on May 18, 1907.
She was a resident of the Muddy Creek district until 1950 when she and Mr. Dahl moved to Baker, to make their home with their son-in-law and daughter, Raymond and Julia Hobbs. May 18, 1967 Mr. and Mrs. Dahl observed their 60th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband Henry, one son Martin J. Dahl of Vancouver, WA.; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Julia) Hobbs of Baker; one granddaughter, Karen Verheiden of Vancouver, WA.; one grandson, Henry Raymond Hobbs of Portland; two great-granddaughters, Jacque and Cheryl Hobbs both of Portland; and three brothers, John Jackson of Woodland, WA., Charlie Jackson of Hubbard, Oregon, and Roy Jackson Welch of Glendale, CA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Jackson and a sister Ora Collins.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America for over fifty years.
Many friends contributed to the First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund and the Cancer Society as memorial tokens in lieu of flowers.
