Michael Gene Cleveland, 34, of La Grande died Aug. 1 at Grande Ronde Hospital of natural causes. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday Aug. 5 at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 Seventh St.
Mr. Cleveland was born July 25, 1972, to Robert and Deborah Beickel Cleveland in Medford. The family moved to Pendleton and then settled in La Grande in 1973. He graduated from La Grande High School in 1990 and from Eastern Oregon State College in 1995.
On Aug., 30, 2003, he married Elizabeth Canfield in La Grande. He worked for Boise Cascade as a stacker operator and was the current president of the union local. He enjoyed sports, playing baseball and basketball, hunting, fishing and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife of La Grande; children, Zoe and Gillian Cleveland of La Grande; his parents of La Grande; cousins, Scott Allen and Brad Allen of La Grande and Adria David of Kuna, Idaho, and other relatives.
