Trudy Jane Capon, 55, a longtime Monument resident, died Feb. 14, 2002, of cancer at her home near Monument.
Her memorial service will be at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Monument Bible Church at Monument.
Trudy was born on July 11, 1946, at Baker City to Raymond and Georgia Pugh Andersen. She was raised at Pendleton and graduated from high school there. She attended a business college in Portland.
She married Don Capon at Monument on April 7, 1973. She was part-owner of the family ranch near Monument in addition to caring for her husband, four sons and faithfully attending her church at Monument. She had attended church faithfully since the age of 7.
She was baptized in the Community Presbyterian Church at Monument, which is now the Monument Bible Church and is under the mantle of The Mission Church denomination. Trudy was very kind to people and never wanted to be the center of attention, but only wanted to care for others. Her family and friends dearly loved her and she them.
Survivors include her husband, Don, of Monument; four sons, Ryan Capon, and his wife, Marla, and Reid and Ray Capon, all of Monument, and Ross Capon and his wife, Julie, of Baker City; three granddaughters, Haley Jane, Faith and McKala; a sister, Kathy McCormmach of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother and his wife, Terry and Pam Andersen of Pendleton; an uncle, Jack Andersen of Eugene; an aunt, Mae Larsen of Eugene; and one niece and one nephew, Katlyn and Dane Andersen, both of Pendleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are under the direction of Autumn Funerals of Redmond.
