Iva J. Brehmer, 82, of Baker City, former owner of the Blue & White Cafe, died Nov. 25, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Services.
Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Coles Funeral Home. Pastor Mel Harris of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. There will be a reception afterward at the church.
Iva was born on Dec. 6, 1924, at Baker City to Lars C. and Lula P. Hixson Jensen. She received her elementary education at Pleasant Valley and was a Baker High School graduate. After graduation, she worked for restaurants at Durkee and Huntington. She returned to Baker City working at the Steak House on the east end of the city, and then purchased the Blue & White Cafe, operating it until 1989 when she her husband, Ed, sold it and retired.
Survivors include her brothers and their wives, Ivan and Margaret Jensen of Baker City and Lloyd and Carolyn Jensen of Bly; sisters, Muriel Roumagoux of Portland, Norma Long of Baker City and Mildred Stringer of Seattle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; a sister, Thelma Metsker; and brothers, Norman and Wayne Jensen.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church or a charity of one’s choice through Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place Street, Baker City, OR 97814.
