Fred C. Beldin; retired Union Pacific fireman, died at his home Tuesday of an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest cemetery Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Mullins officiating.
Born in Summerville, Mr. Beldin was a lifelong resident of Union County. He was a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers and the International Brotherhood of Fireman and Oilers.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Susan Beldin of La Grande; three step-sons, Leonard N. Campbell of la Grande, Richard E. Campbell of Newbridge., and Herbert L. Campbell of Elko, Nevada, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dempsey’s Chapel.
