Services for held for Thomas Barton
Thomas Barton of Wallowa, a retired interior decorator, passed away at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, June 11, 1974, following several months of failing health.
He was born May 8, 1904 at Fayetteville, W.Va., son of Thomas and Cora Belle Barton. He had been a resident of Wallowa and the Promise area for fifty years. On Aug. 8, 1958, he was married at Lewiston to Verle Kidwell.
Survivors include his wife, Verle, at the Wallowa home; one daughter, Nancy Jane Barton, St. Petersburg, Fla., a stepson, Richard Wayne Spencer, Marlboro, Md.; two sisters, Florence Baxter and Mrs. Sam (Russie) Treadway, both of Fayetteville, W.Va.; one brother, Edgar Barton of Union; one grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at the Bollman Chapel Friday, June 14, at 2 p.,, with Rev. Richards Jenks officiating. Casket bearers were: John Campbell, Bruce Campbell, Norman Barton, Orlin Barton, Russell Miller and Johnny Duckworth; and interment was in the Wallowa Cemetery.
