Biographical Sketch of Nelson B. Chamberlain

(See Oolootsa). Nelson Beecher, son of Reverend Armory Nelson and Dollie (Hoyt )Chamberlain, was born at Park Hill September 9, 1850. Educated in the Cherokee Nation.

Married June 12, 1877, Emma Marie Meeks. June 9, 1858. She died January 31, 1888.

They were the parents of: Emma Grace, born April 7, 1881, married Clarence William LeForce, born December 31, 1879, in Labitte County, Kansas. They have five children, Ora B., born April 21, 1904; John D., born October 6, 1910; Marie Dewdrop, born January 22, 1913; Loreone Lorene, born January 19, 1917, and Grace Eunice, born December 26, 1918; Marie Eunice, born September 29, 1882, married Frank Edward Nix; and William Nelson Chamberlain, born November 22, 1883. Mr. Chamberlain married March 26, 1886, Sarah Viola, daughter of John Lee and Amanda (Blankenship) LeForce, born December 4, 1866, in Indiana. They are the parents of: Abigal Otelia, born October 18, 1890, married Thomas Cogni; Erastus Donald, born November 7, 1892 Mary Ellen, born April 23, 1894, married William A. Parker; and Clarence Eugene Chamberlain, born August 25, 1896.

Mr. Chamberlain is a member of the Deer Clan and his Cherokee name is See-yah. He is a farmer near Estella.
