Private, 9th Anti-Aircraft Btry., Div. G. H. Q.; of Edgecombe County; son of George and Mrs. Elizabeth Rawls. Entered service May 6, 1918, at Tarboro, N.C. Sent to Ft. Caswell. Sailed for France July 10, 1918. Fought at Toul Sector. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., March 24, 1919.
