C., transferred to Camp Merritt, N. J. Sailed for France May 17, 1918. Promoted to rank of Corpl. Aug. 21, 1917; to Sergt. Jan. 20, 1918. Fought at Ypres, Belgium, Bellicourt, France. Wounded at Battle of Bellicourt Sept. 29, 1918, by shrapnel. Sent to Newton Abbott, Eng., British Hospital. Served on Mexican border six months. Returned to USA April 13, 1919; landed at Charleston, S. C. Mustered out at Camp Jackson, S. C., April 17, 1919.
