Sent to Bridge Guard, Asheville, N.C. Transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed for France May 11, 1918. Fought at Meuse-Argonne Front. Promoted to 2nd Lt. Sept. 25, 1918. Was with Co. F, 119th Inf., 30th Div., until July 23, 1918. Served on the Mexican border six months. Returned to USA May 17, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., May 24, 1919.
