Was sent to Columbia University Ordnance Training School, New York City. Transferred to Augusta Arsenal, then sent to Camp Hancock. Transferred to Camp Jackson, S. C. Promoted to rank of Sergt. Ord Dept. Aug. 1, 1918, and to rank of 1st Class Sergt. Nov. 1, 1918. Mustered out at Camp Jackson, S. C., March 21, 1919.
