FINDLEY–In Stockton, Calif., February 11, 1948, ADA FRANCES FINDLEY, wife of the late Frank N. Findley; beloved mother of Mrs. Pearl Carpenter of Stockton; loving grandmother of Mrs. Fern Higuera of Stockton and George Lyons of San Francisco; great grandmother of Charles Higuera of Stockton; a native of Missouri; aged 85 years, 2 months, 13 days. Mrs. Susie L. Stalcup, 86, of 1012 So. 4th St., died Monday in a local hospital. She was born in Shelbina, Mo., moved to Cle Elum, Wash., in 1901 and resided here 29 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Winnie Feyko, Seattle; one son, S. R. Stalcup, Tacoma; five sisters, Mrs. Mittie Barry, Los Angeles, Mrs. Grace Daniels, and Mrs. Callie Bryan, both of Shelbina, Mrs. Lucy Cunningham, Austin, Ind., and Mrs. Jessie Scearce, Tacoma; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Nancy Ellen Bilyeu, 64, died here Sunday [February 18, 1945] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ima Woodard. Funeral services are to be held in the Weddle Chapel here at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. John Robertson dies of Heart Attack Sunday. Sudden death claims another old timer of Nyssa; Business houses close for funeral Tuesday. The community was shocked by the undespected death of John M. Robertson, 60, well known old timer of the city, who succumbed to the heart attack at 1:30 o’clock Sunday Morning. He had not been ill and was a man of rugged health. Clyde J. Gilbert, 85, Nyssa, died January 26, 1971 at Nyssa Memorial Hospital. He was a long time resident of the Nyssa area and a retired farmer. Mr. Gilbert was born Aug. 5, 1885, in Missouri. Survivors include one nephew, Frank Wood, Emmett, and one niece, Mrs. Glen Nichols, Emmett. Services were conducted January 29 at Lienkaemper Chapel by the Rev. A. J. Zumwalt, pioneer and member of the Oregon legislature in 1880, died today [January 2, 1915] at his farm near Irving, five miles north of Eugene. Death, occurring at the age of 82 years, followed an attack of pneumonia, which kept him in bed for several weeks. A. J. Zumwalt was one of eleven children of Solomon and Nancy Zumwalt, pioneers, from whom have sprung 150 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren now living in Lane County. Funeral services will be held at the Shaw & Sons Funeral Home in Yakima, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. for Ems Walter Wright, 52, Yakima barber and a former Ellensburg resident.
