Biographical Sketch of Davis Hawley
Davis Hawley, born on September 18, 1850, near Hamilton, Ontario, was a prominent banker and businessman. After moving to Cleveland in 1866, he worked various jobs, including as a cigar boy and later managing the Hotel Clinton. In 1882, he co-founded The Hawley House, eventually selling his interest in 1901. He served as president of the Cuyahoga Savings and Loan Company and held leadership roles in local sports and fraternal organizations. Hawley was also involved in real estate as an owner.
