Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery is a 27 acre site located within the Rocky Gap State Park, just off State Route 68 in Allegany County. The Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery is approximately 10 miles east of Cumberland and is, arguably, the most beautiful of the five State Veterans Cemeteries. Approaching the cemetery, visitors are treated to views of the park’s lake and mountainous backdrop. Over 2,800 veterans and their dependents are interred at the cemetery. Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery has approximately 13,700 burial sites available.

Cemetery Hours:

Cemetery gates will be open to visitors every day of the year from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The gates will close at 4:45 p.m. to allow visitors to exit the cemetery. The cemetery will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on Memorial Day (the date of State observance).

  1. I saw the pictures at rocky gap cemetery use t be a beautiful place and it is a mess now with the stones just thrown down and on top. I was s proud to have my parents there because it was so beautiful, but now it is a disgrace for our veterans. it does not say much for what you think of our veterans. money should not be a issue to make it nice for our veterans. im very upset. it makesme wonder if they got the right stone with the right person because they are not even straight in line. the cemetery is ug now. a disgrace for our veterans. I hope this will be corrected. when we put flowers who is to know it is my family. my father was at pearl harbor and he deserved better than this. and now my mom is with him.
