Law, Oscar – Obituary

George Law received news of the death of his father, Oscar Law at Lincoln, Nebr. Saturday and left for that place Sunday. The old gentleman was 78 years old and a veteran of the civil war. Both he and his wife made the trip out last summer to the G.A.R. reunion at Portland and visited their son and family here at that time. Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Last Rites Held For Mrs. George Hearing Graveside services were conducted at Lostine Friday by Rev. O.W. Jones of the Wallowa Christian church for Mrs. George Hearing who passed away at La Grande on March 3. Burial was in the Lostine cemetery beside her husband. Ila L. Henderson was born June 13, 1878. Rita Joylean Bork, 67, a former area resident, died April 1, 2003, at Oroville, Wash. Her memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at McEwen Bible Fellowship in Sumpter Valley. Friends and family are invited to a potluck after the service. Rita was born April 19, 1935, at Dayridge, near Flora. She married Bernard Murphy at age 17. Rita became a Christian when she married Bernie. They had five children. Rita lived at Halfway, Baker City and Sumpter before moving to Oroville, Wash., four years ago. He was born March 13, 1911 at Wallowa, the son of Willard and Lucy Grace (Feagins) Heskett. He grew up in Wallowa County and attended school there. He married Dorothy McCormack, April 2, 1934. Lyle B. Slack, 1915 Davis St., died at his home Wednesday. He was 64. He was born Oct. 14, 1914, at Summerville, Ore. He attended elementary schools at Summerville and Imbler, and graduated from La Grande High School. Later, he lived in Wallowa County for five years. He was in the Army during World War II. Enterprise, Oregon William Peter Beaudoin Jr. died Sept. 8, 2005, at VA Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington. He was 79 years old. Beaudoin was born August 27, 1926 in Enterprise to William Peter Sr. and Alma Hattie Beaudoin. He graduated from Enterprise High School in 1944. Following school he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp and fought in World War II. He married Elizabeth Anna Burns on June 3, 1950. Word was received Saturday by C.M Billings that his sister, Ida, had died of pneumonia at Deer Lodge, Montana, and was to be taken to Portland for burial. Mr. and Mrs. Billings and baby left on the afternoon train for Portland. Enterprise, Oregon A Former Enterprise Resident Dies in Colorado Hospital Lester Cook passed away at Fort Lyons near Las Animas, Colorado, Aug. 30th, 1920, at the age of twenty-one years and eight months. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines, December 1, 1916, and saw services in the Pacific, being sent home from the Philippines about one year ago following an attack of flu.
