Biographical Sketch of James Highland

(See Ghigau)-James Highland born February 19, 1877 is the son Michael and Nellie (Smith) Highland, the former a native of Dublin, Ireland and the born at Webber’s Falls, Cherokee Nation. James Highland was educated in the Cherokee public schools and Willie Halsell College, Vinita, Married at Vinita, September 8, 1910 Belle, daughter of William Alma Robbins. Mr. Highland was a member of Battery D, Heavy Artillery in the Spanish-American war. He is a Knight of Pythias. He has been in the meat business Vinita as cutter since 1894.
