Cove, Oregon Robin Joyce Smith, 64, a third-generation resident of Cove, died Nov. 11 at her home. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Union United Methodist Church. Private burial was held at the Cove Cemetery. Robin was born on Oct. 16, 1943, to Jay M. and Guyene J. (Fuller) Martin in McMinnville. She graduated from Cove High School with the Class of 1961 and in 1962 graduated from Yakima Business College. On May 24, 1968, she married Stephen B. Smith in Cove. Daugherty Taken Suddenly Thursday Well Known North Powder Farmer Died Soon After He was Taken to Baker Hospital Lew Daugherty, whose farm is near North Powder and who has lived her for many years died at 6 o’clock last evening at the Protestant hospital, Baker, from a stroke or internal hemorrhage, suffered at his home only a few hours previously. Dorothy May (Price) Boardrow, 88, of died peacefully in her sleep on March 14, 2005. At her request there will be no services. Dorothy was born Dorothy May Daniel on May 28, 1916, in Monroe, Mich., the third of four children. She headed west with her family at a very young age, living in Colorado, Portland, and Wolf Creek, Ore. At the age of 18, Dorothy regularly delivered mail and supplies by muleback in harrowing trips from Wolf Creek to a mining camp high in the mountains. In 1934 Dorothy married Robert Price. Elgin Girl Dies In La Grande Funeral services for Betty Joan Hammack, 15, who died today in a La Grande hospital, will be held in The Christian Church at Elgin Monday at 2 p.m., with burial in the Summerville cemetery. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Martin, Elgin, and a pupil at Elgin High School.
