La Grande, Oregon Robert Mulhall, 86, of La Grande and formerly of Seattle, died March 5. At his request there will be no public services. Arrangements are under the direction of Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Mr. Mulhall was born June 3, 1920, to Leo and Jenny (Price) Smith in Yakima, Wash. He lived in Yakima, Portland and Seattle and served in the Army during World War II. After an honorable discharge, he worked as a manufacturing engineer for Boeing for 25 years. Wallowa, Oregon Joyce Lee Conner died Aug. 29, 2006. She was 71. Mrs. Conner was born April 4, 1935, in Wallowa. She graduated from Wallowa High School in 1953. She did all of the artwork for her high school yearbook, was a song leader, a member of the student council, and was the basketball homecoming queen. Dwamish Tribe

A small body of Salish near Seattle, Washington, which city was named from a chief of these and the Suquamish tribes.  Their proper seat, according to Gibbs, was at the outlet of Lake Washington.  In 1856 they were removed to the east shore of Bainbridge Island, but owing to the absence of a fishing ground were shortly afterwards taken to Holderness point, on the west side of Elliot Bay, which was already a favorite place for fishing. Mrs. Marie Brunn, the wife of Dr. C. Brunn, died at her home, 3124 South Seventh Street, early Sunday morning [June 3]. Mrs. Brunn has suffered from asthma for a number of years, and about two months ago the disease developed alarmingly, causing her death yesterday. She was 45 years of age and had come to Tacoma from Seattle two years ago. Mrs. Brunn is survived by her husband and eight children. John M. Storey, 81, of Entiat, died in a Wenatchee hospital Monday [December 1, 1969] evening following a brief illness. Born in Washington near Frank, Sept. 19, 1888, he grew up in the Renton-Seattle area. During World War II he worked as a boilermaker and was a meat cutter prior to moving to Entiat in 1966. On Sept. 26, 1968, he married Maude Ingersoll in Seattle and they made their home at Entiat. He was born in Putnam county, Indiana, on March 17, 1832, of sturdy pioneer stock, his parents having settled in Indiana as early as 1819. Funeral services will be held in the Evenson Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday for Alfred O. Page, 73, a longtime Park District farmer who died Wednesday [April 15, 1964] at the Ellensburg General Hospital. The Rev. C. M. Strong will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. Mr. Page was born in Seattle and married Mary Wooding. Survivors include his wife, three sons, Edwin, Ellensburg, Myron, White Salmon, and Robert, Annette, Alaska; a daughter, Mrs. Viola Christian, Ellensburg, 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. B. M. Shelton of Ellensburg has received word of the death of his sister, Mrs. Martha Nealis, 92, Saturday morning in Seattle [October 25, 1941], at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. T. Gott. Mrs. Nealis and Mr. and Mrs. Gott will be remembered by may friends in Ellensburg, where they lived for 17 years before moving to Seattle in 1923. Funeral services will be held Tuesday in Seattle. Helen Bailes, 90, former Ellensburg area resident, died Monday evening at her home in Seattle. She was born December 17, 1889 in Oregon. She married Amos Bailes in Oregon [married in Yakima Co., WA]. They settled in the Fairview District where they homesteaded until his death in 1932. Mrs. Bailes moved to Seattle in 1943. Mrs. Sarah Yale Olmstead of 801 East Summer Street died at her home about noon yesterday [September 16, 1918]. Mrs. Olmstead was born at Saratoga Springs, New York, December 25, 1841. Miss Margaret Horton, sister of Mrs. C. Hancock, editor of the Haines Record and former member of the North Powder school faculty, died in a Seattle hospital Wednesday.
