He was residing with a son at Salem at the time of his death, which was caused from the effects of a cancer. Besides numerous other relatives throughout the state he leaves a daughter, Mrs. H.D. Nellie Frances Gray, 91, formerly of Union County, died Tuesday, May 25, 1993, of natural causes in Spanaway, Wash. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton. Interment will follow in Belle Passi Mausoleum in Woodburn. Mrs. Gray was born Sept. 25, 1901, in Lenox County, Iowa, to George Washington and Alice Mae Wiley Lemon. The family moved to Lynden, Wash., when she was very young. Her father died there when she was six, and her mother moved the family to Union, where she received her education. Union, Union County, Oregon Judge Robert Eakin Dies at Salem Judge Robert Eakin, a former resident of Union and Union county, died at Salem Monday morning of this week, after an illness covering several years. The funeral took place at Union Wednesday of this week, and was attended by a large concourse of people from Union county and outside points. The services were held in the Presbyterian church, the sermon was delivered by Rev. Hot Lake Crossing Scene Of Drowning Aged Traveler Found Dead Under Car in Ditch Aside of Highway Yesterday Morning Word was brought here by N.N. West, photographer, of North Powder, that J.B. Derringer, whose driver’s license gave his home as Salem, was drowned under a Chevrolet Phaeton when the car left the grade at the turn just this side of the highway viaduct near Hot Lake. North Powder, Union County, Oregon A. B. Hudelson, for sixteen years connected with the North Powder mercantile firm of A.B. Hudelson & Son, passed away very suddenly at his home in Salem, last Saturday morning. Mr. Hudelson, quite aged, often said he trusted when his time came he would welcome a sudden death and his wishes were granted. Word was received from Salem Wednesday morning that John Grandin had died in that city Tuesday evening. He had resided in Elgin for several years, but owing to ill health had been in Salem the past several months. Deceased was born February 13, 1864, died January 11, 1904, aged 39 years, 10 months and 28 days. He leaves a wife and child and a father and mother of this city to mourn his loss. At the home of her mother in Salem, Saturday evening, July 14. 1900, Rose Estelle Raabe, wife of Captain Clyde Raabe, of Portland. Deceased was the daughter of Mrs. Mary J. Creighton of this city. She was born at Union, Oregon, Dec.28, 1878, and lived in Salem nearly all her life, and had a large circle of friends here. She was married to Captain Raabe about two years ago and resided in Portland until some three months ago, when she fell ill and was brought to her mother’s home in this city. Nov. 2, 1904 – Oct. 6, 1988 L. Irl Robinson, 83, of Salem died Thursday in Salem. He was born in Gordon, Texas. He lived in Cove from 1905 to 1919. He served in the Army from 1923 to 1924 and was middleweight boxing champion in the armed services. He married Iola Childers, June 8, 1928, in La Grande. He lived in Montana, Washington and California before coming to Salem in 1950. He moved to Union in 1976 and returned to Salem in 1978.
