Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Bay, Arthur Donavon, 61, of Salem died Feb. 18, 1982 at his home. Born in Enterprise on May 10, 1920, he was the son of Wayne and Adda (Ownbey) Bay. He had been employed as a machine operator for the Salem Concrete Pipe Co. On Aug. 5, 1948 he was married to Lora Dunn Moore Bay in Lewiston. They moved to Salem in 1964. Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon John J. McClain died at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital June 26, 1978 where he had been a patient for 5 days. He was a resident of the Pioneer Guest Home, and a former resident of Medford and Salem. He was born September 30, 1886 on Upper Prairie Creek to James R. and Alice McClain. He married Ida Mae Hursch at Medical Springs, Oregon. She preceded him in death in 1939. In August of 1977 he married Lurena B. in Salem, Oregon. Mr. McClain was a meat cutter, retired. Roberta was born May 4, 1909, in Hatton, Wash. A sister of the Theta Upsilon Sorority, she received her bachelor of science degree in home economics from Washington State University in 1932. He was born on July 14, 1905, in Nellsville, Wis. A graduate of Oregon State University, he was employed by the Oregon State Highway Department for over 30 years, retiring in 1967. Mabel (Boyce) Hickerson, 98, a former resident of Payette, Idaho, died at her Salem home Monday, Feb. 3, 2003. Mabel’s family were pioneers in the Baker Valley.
