Rattery, or Rattrey, is a small village located four miles northwest of Totnes, with a population of 485 and an area of 2823 acres. The notable Marley House, home to Dowager Lady Carew, showcases the area’s historical ties, as she inherited the manor from Walter Palk. The village features an ancient church, recently enhanced by Lady Carew, and a vicarage valued at £240 in 1831.
