Ruth Ackerman, 41, and her five children tragically perished in a fire that destroyed their log home in Priest River, Idaho, on November 29. Her husband, William Ackerman, was unaware that his family was still inside when he attempted to escape. A sixth child, Randy, 15, survived as he was sleeping in a nearby camper. The fire is believed to have been sparked by an overheated wood-burning stove. Ruth was the daughter of Otto and Mrs. Patterson and a second cousin to Oris Yeoman.

Stehwien, Ruth Everson Mrs. – Obituary

Ruth Stehwien, 89, of Baker City, Oregon, passed away on March 12, 2003, at her home. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, with a reception following. Born on June 24, 1913, in Rockville, Missouri, she married Otto Stehwien in 1931 and moved to Oregon in 1942. A devoted mother and church member, Ruth was known for her charitable spirit, contributing to quilting and missionary efforts. She is survived by her five children, numerous grandchildren, and extended family.
