Link Williams
Private Link Williams served in Company C of the 167th Infantry Regiment, part of the 42nd Division. Born to N. S. Williams in Pineville, North Carolina, he entered military service on April 15, 1918. After training at Camp Jackson and Camp Sevier, he was deployed to France on July 6, 1918. Williams sustained a gunshot wound on the Verdun Front on September 12, 1918, and returned to the United States on November 29, 1918, being discharged at Camp Wadsworth on January 17, 1919.
