Dr. Robert E. Colyer, born on March 9, 1890, in Perryville, Missouri, is a prominent figure in chiropractic education as the president and professor at Missouri Chiropractic College. He graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1914 and later earned a Philosopher of Chiropractic degree in 1920. An experienced instructor, he previously taught anatomy at St. Louis Chiropractic College. He married Marie Elizabeth Steinlage in 1917, with whom he has two sons. A Republican, he remains engaged in political matters without pursuing office.
George Arthur Conrad, an 81-year-old pioneer of Flora, Oregon, passed away on February 25, 1954, in Hermiston after a year of declining health. Born on August 29, 1873, in Perry County, Missouri, he moved to Flora in 1889 with his family. George married Nancy Agries Evans in 1896, with whom he had nine children. After losing Nancy in 1912 and remarriage to Susan Strong, he later lived with his sister in Hermiston. His services were held in Hermiston.
J. W. Farrar, born on March 4, 1827, near Charleston, South Carolina, eventually settled in Illinois after various moves during his youth. He married Ann M. Talbot in 1851, with whom he had eight children. Over the years, he engaged in multiple trades, including farming and tanning, before establishing himself in Coles County, Illinois, in 1864. A dedicated community member, Farrar served as Road Commissioner and School Trustee, ultimately owning 310 acres of land earned through hard work.
