Paradise, Wallowa County, Oregon Johnny D. Ralls, son of J. W. and Mary A. Ralls, was born in Knox Co., Missouri, May 1, 1885 and died in Paradise, Oregon, June 7, 1903 at the age of 18 years, 1 month and 6 days. He suffered intensely for about 8 days. The deceased was a kind, affectionate and obedient son. The family has the sympathy of the entire community in it’s bereavement. The funeral sermon was preached in Paradise school house on June 9th and the remains interred in the Paradise cemetery, the services being conducted by rev. Henry Martin. A … Read more

Mrs. Lula Addie Twaddell, 88, died at the home of her daughter 1603 W. Yakima, in Pasco (Washington) early Tuesday (Feb. 15, 1961). She was born in Joplin, MO Aug 31, 1872. At the age of four, she traveled across the Plains in a covered wagon and settled in Paradise, Oregon. Mrs. Twaddell came to Pasco two years ago from Steveston. B.C. where she had lived since 1948. Bob Swisher of Enterprise died Aug. 9, 2006, at his home of natural causes. He was 85. Mr. Swisher was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Paradise to William Harry Swisher and Martha Ann Gordon Swisher. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on May 8, 1942. He served with the 9th Construction Battalion with a rank of First Class Mech. Mate during World War II. Paradise, Oregon Grandpa Sturm passed away Sunday Sept. 25, 1921, after a serious illness of several days, while for months he has been in the very poorest of health. He was one of the old pioneer settlers of the north end, being 88 years old. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, four sons, Chas., Henry and Orlando Sturm, who live in Paradise, a daughter, Mrs. Lake Osbourne of Alberta, and several grandchildren besides a host of friends, who extend the sorrowing relatives their sympathy in their bereavement.
