Biography of Alonzo F. Dove
Alonzo F. Dove, a prominent figure in Hamilton, Kansas, was born on December 11, 1873, into a pioneering family from Greenwood County. He initially pursued a career in education, teaching for thirteen years before transitioning to the loan and insurance business. In 1915, he became the postmaster of Hamilton. Dove’s lineage includes English ancestry, with roots tracing back to colonial Virginia. He married Rosina Belle Proeger in 1905, and they had three children.
