Ottawa Reservation

The Ottawa reservation encompasses 14,860 acres of primarily prairie land, with a portion covered in timber. Currently, it hosts 137 Ottawas, most of whom are transitioning to agricultural life, though their farming efforts remain modest. The community lacks a schoolhouse, relying on off-reservation education. They possess a written language but struggle with cultural retention, as traditional practices and crafts have diminished. With a limited chief and councils focusing on improvement, crime is rare, and they maintain a law-abiding nature amidst changing societal influences.
