Biographical Sketch of Caleb Horton
Caleb Horton, born in autumn 1640 in Southold, married Abigail Hallock on December 23, 1665. The couple settled in Cutchogue, Long Island, where Caleb was recognized as a freeman in Connecticut in 1664 and received land that same year. By 1683, his estate was valued at £350, and his family included four males and six females in 1686. After Abigail’s death in 1697, Caleb passed away on October 3, 1702. They had several children, including Barnabas, Jonathan, and Nathan.
