Biographical Sketch of Judge Perez Richmond
Judge Perez Richmond, born in Little Compton on October 13, 1728-29, served as a significant local leader, holding various government positions including judge of probate court and president of the town council. Appointed in June 1775 to enlist minutemen, Richmond was active in the community and well-liked for his gentle demeanor. He married Mercy Church in 1754, and they had ten children. Judge Richmond died from a fall off his horse on November 23, 1800-01, after a long life dedicated to his town.
