Eleanor Marie Franklin Pitts, 81, passed away on April 14, 2006, in Upland, California, formerly of Baker City. Born on September 7, 1924, she had a vibrant life, working as a nurse’s aide and engaging in community activities such as leading Girl Scouts. She was married twice, first to Elton Best and later to Isaac Lee Pitts, with whom she had five daughters. Eleanor was passionate about gardening, especially irises, and treasured her family, leaving behind multiple generations. Her funeral was held on April 21, with interment at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
