M. Winsor editor Mankato Review, has been one of the most prominent men in the county. He was born in Chautauqua County, N. Y., and March 20, 1840. He received only a common school education, yet a thorough one. He removed when eighteen to Illinois with his parents, and when twenty, went alone to Colorado, where he joined the First Colorado Cavalry in 1863, remaining in active service to the close of the war.
