Baker City, Oregon Mary Coleta McCray, 82, a Baker City native, died Oct. 28, 2001, at her son’s home in Baker City. A vigil service is scheduled at 8:30 tonight at Grays West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, First and Church streets. The Rev. Rob Irwin will officiate. Brian Scott Steffen, 29, died Oct. 5, 2005, at his mother’s home in Baker City. His memorial service was Saturday at Wade Williams Park. Shirley McLin of Baker City officiated. Brian was born on Sept. 13, 1976, at Portland to Jeffrey Steffen and Cathy Steffen Vandiver. He was raised and educated at Cascade Locks. Edith Rose Ireland, 92, of Mitchell died Dec. 20 at her home. Memorial services will be July 21 in Hood River. Mrs. Ireland was born in Hood River July 21, 1914, to James Ray and Emma May (Barton) Hathhorn. She grew up and was educated there. She married Willis “Mike” Ireland in Hood River June 19, 1931. She and her family lived throughout the Northwest, wherever there was a dam to be built. They moved to Elgin in 1999, then to Mitchell in November.
