“James Webb’s Death Ends Long Illness” Death came to James Webb, old-time resident of Union, last Saturday at Hot Lake after a long illness. He was born in Iowa in 1874, and was aged 56 years, nine months and two days. He came west with the George Wilkinson family in 1890, and settled in High Valley, where he lived until his marriage to Nora Wilkinson in 1897. Thereafter he was a Union resident. Phillip “Edgar” Wilkinson, of Union, died Tuesday at the La grande Nursing Center. He was 90. Mr. Wilkinson was a Union resident since 1959. He was born on Feb. 18, 1894 to Thomas and Lydia Ann (Rundell) Wilkinson at High Valley. He farmed in High Valley before moving to Union. Forty-two years a resident of Union county, Oregon, was John Wilkinson, who was born July 30, 1839, in Peoria, Illinois, and died in Walla Walla, Washington, where he went three weeks before for treatment in a hospital in that city. Miss Grace E. Wilkinson died at the home of Dr. Myers, in Union, last Sunday afternoon, June 10, 1906, at about 5:30 o’clock. As noticed in last week’s Republican, Miss Wilkinson was brought from High Valley to Union Friday of last week, and was operated on for appendicitis, but she declined slowly until the time named, when she passed away.
