Allensworth, George Verne, Jr. – Obituary

George Verne Allensworth Jr., 76, passed away on April 4, 2006, in Richland, Oregon. A memorial service was held at the Richland Christian Church, followed by inurnment at Eagle Valley Cemetery. Born on December 10, 1929, in Galesburg, Illinois, he graduated high school there and served in the Navy. He worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and later became Richland’s justice of the peace. He is survived by his wife Retha, three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Yost, Karen Lei – Obituary

Karen Lei Yost, 55, passed away on February 3, 2006, after a prolonged struggle with ovarian cancer. A Catholic Mass will be held in Salem, followed by a graveside service and burial in her native Hawaii. She is survived by her husband Jim, son Russell, and extended family, including in-laws from Baker City and siblings in Hilo. Karen was preceded in death by her parents. Cremation was handled by Goldens Mortuary of Salem.

Springer, Theron Leroy “Terry” – Obituary

Theron Leroy “Terry” Springer, 55, passed away on August 23, 2000, in Seattle, Washington, from natural causes. Born on August 13, 1945, in Oxnard, California, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later worked as a carpenter. A resident of Baker City since 1966, Springer enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. He is survived by his three children and siblings. A private service will be held in his memory.

Spivey, Earl M. – Obituary

Earl M. Spivey, 84, passed away on September 7, 2002, at his home in Baker City, Oregon. Born on June 18, 1918, in Tennessee, he moved to Baker City in 1929. Earl served in the U.S. Army and worked most of his life in the lumber industry. He was married to Dorothy Margaret Hixson for 61 years and is survived by his children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family. He was preceded in death by one son, Dale, and several family members.
