Biographical Sketch of Samuel Stebbins
Samuel Stebbins, originally from Hartland, Conn., moved to his current location in 1804 with his wife, Sarah Boardman, and their six children. He initially arrived in 1803 and constructed the rear portion of the Medbury House, later operating a tavern with Bela Scoville until around 1809. Stebbins was a Revolutionary War pensioner and passed away on March 6, 1833, at the age of 74, just months after his wife’s death on September 4, 1833, at the age of 70.
