Easley, Carlos Eugene – Obituary
Carlos Eugene Easley, 91, passed away on May 10 at his home in La Grande, Oregon. His funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church. Born in 1917 in Texas, Easley had a long and distinguished career in education, serving over three decades at Eastern Oregon College, including roles as dean of instruction and interim president. He was deeply involved in community service and recognized as Man of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in 1977. He is survived by his three children and numerous grandchildren.
Arteburn, Royce L. “Tex” – Obituary
Royce L. “Tex” Arteburn, 93, passed away on December 31, 2003, in Baker City, Oregon. Born on May 16, 1910, in Quanah, Texas, he moved to Oregon with his family as a child and later settled in Baker City in 1932. Tex was married to Amy Heater for 56 years and had a successful career in insurance. He cherished time with his family, enjoyed outdoor activities, and was known for his homemade treats. He is survived by two daughters, seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
