Jay Williard Braten, 71, of Halfway, died Feb. 28, 2007, at the home of close friends, Duane and Rita Wolfersperger in Redmond with family and friends by his side. His memorial service will be at noon Saturday at the Halfway Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall. There will be a private scattering of his ashes later at one of his favorite fishing spots.
