Ronald D. Perkins, 62, of Haines died June 30, 2008, at his home. His graveside memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Haines Cemetery. Ron was born on July 3, 1945, at Baker City to Dwight L. and Viola Green Perkins. His parents were the inspirations in his life. La Grande, Union County, Oregon Man Killed When Car Goes In Ditch G.W. Hansell, of La Grande, was killed instantly when a touring car he was driving left the Oregon Trail a mile north of Haines early Saturday morning and turned over in a ditch.
