Pearl Thrasher Passes, Jan. 6 Pearl Thena Thrasher was born in July 8, 1902 in Haines, Oregon. The oldest child of William and Amy Long, long-time pioneer family in Baker County who first settled in the Muddy Creek area near Haines. She attended Muddy Creek School. She married Daniel Price Thrasher on Sept. 25, 1920 in Baker. They lived in Sparta, Richland and North Powder before moving to Baker in 1926. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Baker. Kenneth A. Daugherty, 69, of Grants Pass, a former Baker City resident, died Jan. 15, 2002, at the Three Rivers Community Hospital at Grants Pass. His memorial service was Jan. 19 at Newman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brett Strobel officiating. Private interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Lundberg’s L.B.
