Biographical Sketch of Albert Morreau
Albert Morreau, born on August 17, 1861, in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, moved to Cleveland after working in a dry goods store in Frankfurt and as an assistant correspondent in Manchester. In 1887, he founded the Morreau Gas Fixture Co., which grew significantly under his leadership. He married Lea Nora Heller in 1893 and had two sons, Myron and Leopold. An active community member, Morreau participated in various clubs and associations and was a Republican of Jewish faith, enjoying golf in his leisure time.
