Biographical Sketch of Charles E. Pool
Charles E. Pool was born on July 8, 1881, in Irwin, Pennsylvania. He attended public schools and entered the real estate business in Allegheny City from 1890 to 1902. Pool transitioned to coal mining in 1903, operating various mines and organizations, including The Continental Fuel Co. and the Claybrook Coal Mining Co. throughout West Virginia and Ohio. He was also involved with the Athletic Club and the Wisconsin Gas Association, showcasing a diverse business career. Pool married in 1911 in Philadelphia.
