Union, Oregon Carolyn “Kay” Owens, 89, of Union died April 17 in Madras following a brief illness. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Union Cemetery. Loveland funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. She was born in Coos Bay to Cecil and Elizabeth (Cramer) Brown on May 18, 1917. She married Russell Kullman in Cherokee, Iowa, in 1937, and then C. H. “Slim” Coats in Antelope in 1942. Kay worked in retail sales and did drafting for the aircraft industry during World War II. She was an accomplished clothing buyer and retailer. Biography of C. A. S. Prosser, M. D.

Dr. C. A. S. Prosser, born in 1864 in Lunenburg, Ontario, was a respected physician in Boise, Idaho. Descended from Loyalist ancestors who settled in Canada during the American Revolution, he pursued medical studies under his brother’s guidance before graduating from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1887. After practicing in New York and Iowa, he moved to Boise in 1893 due to health reasons, where he established a successful practice and served as a physician and surgeon at Wesleyan Hospital. He married Clara Raymond in 1889, with whom he had two daughters.

AN AGED CITIZEN PASSED TO HIS REWARD Axel E. Kullman was born in Sweeden, Sept. 18, 1853, and died at the home of his son Will, in Cherokee, where he was visiting on June 22 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 4 days. Mr. Kullman was married to Augusta Johnson in Sweeden in the year 1878. To this union were born eight children; a daughter and his wife preceded him in death.
