Robert Eugene Mosley, 53, of Huntington, Oregon, passed away on August 13, 2004. Born on November 17, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he moved to Oregon as a toddler. A Marine Corps veteran, Robert had two marriages and fathered two sons, Lance and Boe. He worked at a paper mill and later as a fishing guide. He returned to Eastern Oregon to retire. He is survived by his mother, sons, stepchildren, grandchildren, and sister. Memorial services are forthcoming.
Raymond Willis O’Neal, 97, passed away on February 24, 2003, in Baker City, Oregon. Born on July 11, 1905, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he traveled west as a child and spent his life in logging and mill work. He married Thelma Brummett in 1936 and raised four children. A devoted family man, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and joking with loved ones. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at Grays West Co. Pioneer Chapel, with a graveside committal in Prineville on Monday.
Richard “Dick” Humphries, 71, passed away on April 21, 2003, at his home in Baker City, Oregon. Born on January 8, 1932, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he lived in Baker City for 62 years after moving there in 1943. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a skilled carpenter known for his work on significant projects throughout Oregon. Dick had a passion for country music and enjoyed playing steel guitar. He is survived by three children, seven grandchildren, and five brothers, leaving a lasting impact on his community.
Leon Smothers, 89, of Dexter, Mo., and a former resident of Baker City, passed away on August 1, 2002. His graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Roger Scovil. Born on March 19, 1913, in Fisk, Mo., he worked as a ranch hand and maintenance worker at the Baker County Courthouse. He is survived by two brothers, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews, having been preceded in death by his wife and other family members.
