Biography of Hon. Charles E. Linderman
Hon. Charles E. Linderman, born in 1829 in New York, became a prominent figure in southwestern Iowa, known for his dedication to public service, high ideals, and community development. After practicing law briefly, he served as clerk of the district court and enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War, ultimately rising to the rank of second lieutenant.
