Mining Man Is Dead T.F. Rea, 75, pioneer mining man of Baker County, died at Baker last Friday from the effects of two paralytic strokes. Mr. Rea suffered the first stroke February 27 and the second March 19. Mr. Rea was born in Fairfield, Iowa December 23, 1852 and came to Auburn Baker county with his parents 10 years later. Baker City, Oregon John D. Smith, 96, of Baker City died Nov. 21, 2000, at his home at Baker City. A family memorial service will be scheduled later. Eloise (Albrecht) Mitchell, 82, a former Baker City resident, died Aug. 28, 2005, after a brief struggle with a blood disorder. Informal services will take place in September at her daughter Victoria’s home in Martinez, Calif. Eloise was born Oct. 6, 1922, at Pocatello, Idaho. Maria Helena Riggs was born on June 2, 1924, at Lisbon, Portugal. She moved to Baker City as a child and graduated from Baker High School in 1942. “Haines Woman Is Accident Victim” Mrs. Dorsey Taylor, Haines, was instantly killed in an automobile accident near Mission, Ore., on Christmas Day, friends here learned today. Her husband B. A.
