Eleanor Eunice Smead, 87, of Eugene and former resident of La Grande, passed away on March 5 due to age-related causes. Born on December 30, 1919, in Auburn, Washington, she graduated high school at 16. Eleanor married Wendell Martin in 1938, with whom she had four children, later marrying Harold Smead in 1976. She worked for the Farmers Home Administration and moved to Bend before settling in Eugene. Eleanor is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, with memorials suggested to Greenhill Humane Society.

Fix, Clara Jane Harris – Obituary

Mrs. S. E. Fix, 78, a former resident of Pierce County, passed away in Olympia. Born in Rockford, Ontario, Canada, she moved to the U.S. in 1884 and later taught in Orting schools before marrying in 1903. The couple lived in Kapowsin and Olympia. Active in the Order of Eastern Star, she is survived by her husband, three daughters, a son, a sister, six grandchildren, and three nephews. Funeral services are scheduled at the Orting Funeral Home, with burial in Orting Cemetery.

Milns, Anna Katherine Mueller – Obituary

Anna K. Milns, a long-time resident of Ellensburg, passed away at 89 years old. Born on November 26, 1880, in St. James, Minnesota, she moved to Ellensburg at age two. After the death of her first husband Martin Wippel in 1915, she married Frank Milns in 1930. Following his passing in 1941, she returned to Ellensburg. A devoted member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, her funeral will include a rosary and requiem mass, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

McEwen, Cora Belle – Obituary

Cora B. McEwen, 95, a retired teacher from Ellensburg, passed away on June 30, 1990, in Auburn, where she had resided for four years. An alumnus of Ellensburg Normal School and Central Washington College of Education, she had a 30-year teaching career and continued as a private tutor post-retirement. Cora was also actively involved in the First Baptist Church for over 80 years. She is survived by three great nephews. Arrangements are handled by Cotton Chapel in Ellensburg.

Cora B. McEwen, aged 95, passed away on June 30, 1990, in Auburn, where she had resided for four years. A retired school teacher in Ellensburg, she taught for 30 years after training at Ellensburg Normal School and Central Washington College of Education. McEwen also tutored privately post-retirement and was actively involved in youth groups at the First Baptist Church for over eight decades. She is survived by three great nephews.
