Alexander Town Officers 1828-1868
The township’s early records were lost to a fire in 1827 or 1828, though the first trustees are believed to have been Caleb Merritt, John Brooks, and Thomas Sharp, with Merritt serving as the inaugural justice of the peace. From 1829 to 1868, a notable lineup of trustees and justices of the peace emerged, including figures such as Ziba Lindley, Samuel Earhart, and Franklin Burnham, reflecting the evolving leadership and governance in Alexander during this period.
