La Grande, Union County, Oregon

William Jasper Irwin, 1907 Oak Street, La Grande, died Sunday morning in a La Grande hospital after a long illness. He was 70 years old.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 26 at the Daniels funeral home with Rev. Gene Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Summerville Cemetery.

Irwin, a retired farmer, was born in Kansas on Feb. 27, 1880. He had lived in La Grande for the past nine years.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. LaRue Roda, Medford, Mrs. Rita Walker, Island City, Mrs. Laura Gooderham, La Grande, and Mrs. Vida Sullivan, Roseburg.

Two brother, Wallace Irwin, Monroe, Ore., and Morris Irvin, Montana; three sisters, Mrs. Lilly Balm, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Agnes Carpenter, West Bridge, Canada, and Mrs. Ida Macy, La Grande; 11 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
